How to design a reassuring sensory birth room
Wavecare CEO Eva Wennerwald will present the Sensory Birth Room Concept and show how the combination of light, sound, and moving images creates the evidence-based, safety promoting, and relaxing Birthing Environment.
Wavecare is specialized in multisensory environments for hospital settings and pioneers behind the Concept of Sensory Delivery Rooms (or Sensory Birth Rooms) – Environments created with the purpose to increase the feeling of safety and well-being for patients, relatives and staff.
Since the implementation of the first Sensory Birth Rooms in 2013 Wavecare has continued the development of the Sensory Birth Room technology and user-friendly interface on the basis of evidence and studies. The result is a scalable solution being sold in both Denmark and Internationally.
Studies and science from North Zealand Hospital in Denmark and Rigshospitalet in the Capital Region have shown how auditory and visual stimulation at the Sensory Birth Rooms have a positive effect on the couples’ birthing experience, the use of obstetric interventions, and the working environment.
Eva Wennerwald will present:
- Audiovisual stimulation before, under, and after the birth
- How workflow and intuitive solutions work together
- A project targeted a midwife tool for daily use
- Installation and implementation of Sensory Birth Rooms in Denmark and Internationally
- Next step – how should we proceed with the journey?
