Obstetric senior consultant. Teacher of upright breech and intrapartum obstetrics

Kamilla has been an obstetrician at the maternity ward in Slagelse since 2024. Prior to this, she worked at the maternity ward in Aabenraa, Southern Jutland.

In addition to her clinical work, Kamilla is also an educator with Obstetriwise.dk. She leads workshops on Upright Breech Birth, Fear of Childbirth, and Occiput Posterior in several countries. These workshops, both theoretical and practical, focus on reducing unnecessary interventions in childbirth. Aiming for natural childbirth.

Kamilla also gives seminars for homebirthing midwives in emergency situations at home.

Upright breech births: Training staff to be confident

Re-introduction of Breech birth in Denmark?

Breech has had a revival in several delivery units in Denmark with the new concept of Upright Breech birth.
The Term Breech Study from 2000 showed us that breech birth is potentially hazardous in untrained hands.

This lack of training and lack of confidence shows in Danish cesarean section rate for breech, which is close to 90%.
Following thorough training, midwives and doctors at several Danish hospitals are now completely confident about breech birth. It affects the women’s choices, and in these hospitals 20-45% of breech presentations are now born vaginally.
