Intrapartum pudendal nerve block and childbirth experience in primiparous women

In this presentation, Åsa will present her latest research about the effects of intrapartum pudendal block:

  • Pudendal nerve block analgesia (PNB) is used as pain relief in the final stage of childbirth. We hypothesized that PNB is associated with higher rates of postpartum urinary retention.
  • PNB is unlikely to hamper future bladder function but might have important implications for mode of delivery.
