Perineal Care Specialist, Midwife, Course creator at GynZone

Eva is a Danish midwife at Regional Hospital Gødstrup. In addition to regular midwifery work, she also has a specialist function in the hospital’s interdisciplinary postnatal clinic, performing routine checkups of all birth lacerations  2-3 days postpartum. In case of insufficient primary repair or suture breakdown, the clinic offers early secondary repair.

Early secondary repairs are performed by a team of specialist midwives and urogynecologists.

Early secondary repair (13 years of experience)

Speakers: Midwife Eva Dimon and Urogynecologist PhD Marianne Glavind-Kristensen.

All women giving birth in Aarhus University Hospital are offered a postnatal screening of the outcome of their perineal repair. This screening is carried out during a routine visit 2-3 days after birth along with a neonatal hearing test and breastfeeding support.

In case of suture breakdown, early secondary perineal repair is offered within the first weeks postpartum.

Birth of a fetal face presentation
