At Aarhus University Hospital a small unit for perinatal loss was initiated in 2011.

The Unit is shielded from the labor- and maternity wards with crying babies and pregnant women.

The mother and her partner can stay at the Unit as long as they need.

The midwives at the Unit are specialized within grief and loss and practice self-management to a high degree.
